REST API HDP Connector
This article explains how to set up the REST API HDP connector in Angles Professional.
Note: This connector uses the JDBC driver provided by Progress Hybrid Data Pipeline (HDP). It requires the user to set up the connection in HDP.

Setup REST API HDP Connector
Sign in to Progress HDP web application using the credentials provided by insightsoftware.
On the left navigation menu, go to Manage Data Sources.
Click New Data Source.
Select Autonomous REST Connector.

Enter information in the following required fields:

Description
Data Source Name
Add a unique name for the customer.
Description
Add a description for customer connection.
Server Name
Enter the server's name (or IP address) of the server provided by the customer.
Port Number
Enter the port number used by the server provided by the customer (For example, 443).
Connector ID
During the on-premises HDP application setup, select the Connector Label from the drop-down.
Health Check URI
Leave the field blank.
Authentication Method
Connection method used by the REST API provided by the customer.
Go to the Configure Endpoints tab and set it up manually or import a REST file.
Click Test to ensure it works.

Click Save.
Verify that the connection is successful in HDP.
Sign in to Angles, navigate to Connections, and select Create Connection.

Select the appropriate Data Source as shown below:

Enter information in the following required fields:

Select a connection type from the list
Version
Current
Name
A name for the connection. You can refer to this field while creating business views.
JDBC URL
The HDP JDBC URL with the HDP Data Source Name specified in it.
Username
The HDP username
Password
The HDP password
Click Save. Angles will automatically validate the connection before saving and start importing the business views.
